It is a life of epic proportions that we live everyday. So it is no wonder that 21-year-old Gabriel Secrest has taken upon himself to simply fight the good fight. “ Music is my gifted way of devoting myself to a calling that is higher than any I could dream for myself ” says the Tucson , Arizona native. It is his honest and upfront songwriting that has set him apart from the rest of the crowd. His genre crossing style and versatility also highlight his approach to set himself aside in his musical taste. But this is surely not the only thing that is different about Gabe. “ I just want to be real with people and not always wear a sugarcoat when I have accumulated an audience; hopefully my songs reflect this part of my lifestyle and the reason behind why I am this way.

This romance between Gabriel and music was founded by a drum set in 8 th grade. From there the rest is history. He originally picked up the guitar to play a few chords for a kid ' s camp and fell in love with songwriting from there. “ Everything always came so easy to me as I grew up yet I still felt like there was something missing; something that I needed to give back; something to devote myself fully too. ” In high school Gabriel played for anybody, anywhere, anytime from a single close friend to 2000 people. Gabe had played all over his home town of Tucson , Arizona including such famous venues as the Rialto Theatre and Tucson Music Hall . “ Playing these huge venues was such an honor but the only thing I was able to think about after I played was the hope that my songs somehow could be used by those who heard them. ”
